Women Get On Board Inc. announces founding corporate partnership with KPMG in Canada to help advance more women to corporate boards.
Women Get On Board, co-founded by Deborah Rosati and Susan Varty, has entered into a founding corporate partnership with KPMG in Canada. KPMG will be hosting Women Get On Board’s launch event September 23, 2015.
“C-suite and senior executive women leaders want to get board-ready, and if they are already a Corporate Director, they want to showcase their expertise for their next corporate board opportunity” says co-founder and corporate director, Deborah Rosati. “We are very excited to have KPMG as a Founding Corporate Partner. They are interested in helping to build a pipeline of the next generation of qualified women corporate directors” says Rosati.
Women Get On Board is a call to action to increase the number of qualified women on corporate boards. Based on The Business Case for Women on Boards by The Conference Board of Canada, women in the boardroom are linked to better business results including strong financial performance, ability to attract and retain top talent, heightened innovation, enhanced client insight and improved board effectiveness.
“Many women have the experience and qualifications for corporate board appointments but are not shortlisted or selected in many cases. Our focus at Women Get On Board is to connect and promote our members to corporate board opportunities through our social media channels, corporate network, advisory board and our own corporate director members. KPMG recognizes the importance of getting women in leadership roles board-ready” says Rosati.
Women Get On Board provides a pro‐active approach for their members, featuring “how-to” get board-ready consultations and online personal branding services. Online personal branding services help women stay “top of mind” when boards are seeking qualified women who may be outside of their own networks. Women Get On Board features experienced women corporate directors and women executives as speakers at their roundtable events to share lessons learned.
